Reihenhaus/Doppelhaus (Townhouse/duplex) admin1827 2017-05-31T10:07:44+00:00

Reihenhaus/Doppelhaus (Townhouse/duplex)

“Reihenhäuser” and “Doppelhäuser” belong to the same type of housing as “Einfamilienhäuser” and, hence, are normally only occupied by a single living unit. They differ from detached houses, as they are connected to one or more other houses and therefore are not independent. A townhouse is part of a closed row of similar houses. If the houses on both ends of the row are not attached on three sides, they are called “Reihenendhaus”. A “Doppelhaus”, on the other hand, is comprised of two houses with mirroring design that share an outer wall on the property line. The individual house in a “Doppelhaus” is called “Doppelhaushälfte”. The single living units in “Reihenhäusern” and “Doppelhäusern” are usually identical in construction and have a private garden. They can both be bought and rented.
